Sermons
The challenge of preaching is to proclaim the Word of God in ways that are faithful to the scripture text as it was written in its original context and to interpret its meaning for people's lives today. At Lutheran Church of the Redeemer we follow the Revised Common Lectionary, which opens up the breadth and depth of scripture in the Old and New Testaments. You can read on this website some of these sermons. We invite you to come hear the Good News of God's love in Christ Jesus preached each Sunday morning, to be challenged in your faith, and to apply God's Word to the questions and challenges we all face each day.

Ordained in 1987, he has been a pastor of ELCA churches in Anoka, Minnesota and St. Paul. He has been a community leader in St. Paul, and is a founder and clergy leader of ISAIAH, faith-based community organization in the Twin Cities and Minnesota. Pastor Jim and his wife, Kim, were called to Redeemer in 1994, where they have raised their family, and worked to build an inclusive and welcoming congregation for the whole community.
