Pastor James Erlandson

Pastor Erlandson has been pastor of Redeemer for over twenty years, is a graduate ('86) of Luther Seminary in St. Paul. Ordained in 1987, he has been a pastor of ELCA churches in Anoka, Minnesota and St. Paul.   He has been a community leader in St. Paul, and is a founder and clergy leader of ISAIAH, faith-based community organization in the Twin Cities and Minnesota.  Pastor Jim and his wife, Kim, were called to Redeemer in 1994, where they have raised their family, and worked to build an inclusive and welcoming congregation for the whole community.

Tahnea Brown

Tahnea has been the Office Manager at Redeemer for 10 years. She's the mom of a daughter with a HUGE personality as well as a troop leader for the Girl Scout Troop who meets here at Redeemer.

Erik Krohg

Director of Music

​

​Director of Music Erik Krohg earned his Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance at Concordia College in Moorhead, where he sang in the Concordia Choir under Rene Clausen for three years, and the Fargo-Moorhead Opera chorus.  He then earned his Master of Music in Voice at the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University, performing in operas and oratorios.  He is also an avid pianist, having studied and played since he was 5 years old.  Currently, he sings with the VocalEssence Ensemble Singers, whom he has sung with for the past six years.  He can also be heard singing in a variety of other settings around the Twin Cities, including with First Readings Project and as a soloist in oratorio work.  Outside of music, he is an enthusiastic baker (a hobby especially picked up during the pandemic), and an avid reader.

Ellen Hacker

Organist​

​

Ellen Hacker is a freelance musician & educator in the Twin Cities Metro area. She is currently on faculty at the St. Paul Conservatory of Music, where she teaches violin & viola and accompanies the Suzuki group classes & recitals. She performs regularly on violin & viola with theater companies in the Twin Cities and is a founding member of the Watercress String Trio. A graduate of St. Olaf College, she studied violin, viola & piano and received a Bachelor of Music degree in Instrumental Music Education. In May 2021, she received her Master’s in Violin Performance & String Pedagogy at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Ellen serves as Organist/Accompanist at Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in St. Paul and enjoys playing the Martin Ott pipe organ and the new Brodmann grand piano.
